  • Relieves itching from herpes and chickenpox: apply to the problem areas.
  • For genital infections (genital herpes, discharge, contagious infections): use vaginal douches – add 5 drops of the oil to 1 litre of water.

Description

Active component: Eucalyptol (1,8-cineole) – 80.3%

According to English folklore, an English settler almost cut off his thumb with an axe. His father, who knew folk medicine, advised him to make a dressing of eucalyptus leaves wrapped tightly around the cut. Later, when a surgeon saw the wound, he was very surprised, as the thumb had healed so quickly and without a trace of infection. The eucalyptus tree, known as the “Tasmanian blue gum”, is an evergreen tree typical of Australia that is said to be the main food source of koala bears. It provides excellent food for wildlife, and the essential oil extracted from eucalyptus leaves has very powerful therapeutic properties.

The main chemical components are eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol, which make it an ideal oil for a feeling of easy breathing and open airways, as well as for a soothing massage.

Research: Eucalyptus oil has been found to be effective in reducing pain, swelling and inflammation. In patients who had undergone knee replacement, inhaling eucalyptus oil markedly lowered blood pressure and pain. A 2015 study concluded that external application of 1,8-cineole (the primary active component of eucalyptus oil) offers a new therapeutic approach to reducing the mucus secretion produced during infection.
