It has been shown to purify the air by helping to eliminate various toxins that may be present in your home. It has also been used as a natural remedy for asthma, coughs, various respiratory infections and colds, and can even relieve allergies. Today the powerful antiseptic action of pine oil on the respiratory, urinary and biliary tracts has been proven.

Pine needle oil has an expectorant, pain-relieving and circulation-boosting action. It reduces sweating and helps flush out toxins. Pine oil is closely related to eucalyptus oil in terms of plant species and benefits, so they can be used somewhat interchangeably. A great way to get more benefits from pine oil is to combine it with eucalyptus or citrus oils, which work in a similar way to fight inflammation, eliminate bacteria and odours, improve your mood and increase mindfulness.

Used aromatically, pine essential oil has a positive effect on mood by clearing the mind of stress, energising the body, helping to eliminate fatigue, improving concentration and encouraging a positive outlook.

Used topically, pine essential oil is known to soothe itching, inflammation and dryness, control excessive sweating, prevent fungal infections, protect minor grazes from developing infections, slow the signs of ageing and improve circulation. When applied to the hair, pine essential oil is renowned for cleansing the scalp, enhancing the hair's natural smoothness and shine, helping retain moisture and protecting against dandruff and lice.

Used internally, pine essential oil is known to support immune function, clear the airways, prevent the symptoms of colds, coughs, sinusitis, asthma and flu, and help clear infections.
